AI-Driven National Clearinghouse for Evidence-Based
Programs and Policies
The National Prevention Science Coalition to Improve Lives has conceived of a National Clearinghouse, driven by artificial intelligence, that houses rigorously evaluated programs and policies shown to reduce, prevent, or treat public health problems—such as violence, substance use disorders, mental illness, trauma, injuries, and chronic disease. In addition, to informing policymakers, it will serve communities by increasing the likelihood that selected evidence-based programs map to community needs and thus can be expected to deliver intended results.
The data infrastructure with the features outlined in the paper linked below provides a comprehensive one-stop resource for information and assistance to deploy a range of evidence-based strategies for end-users. It will be useful for researchers (who populate the database), policymakers (who need to know what to legislate and fund), and communities, private organizations, and government agencies (that need to identify and implement best practices). A dissemination protocol will accompany its release to expand its reach, substantially increasing the uptake of evidence-based programs and policies at all levels. And, once established, the platform can be extended into other policy areas, such as environmental issues, national security, or budget projections.
Please take a moment to read about the National Clearinghouse in our original proposal, paper (with Blueprints) under review, and/or the 5 minute video below. We would appreciate if you then could provide your feedback in the 4-question survey. Your response is anonymous. Thank you for your time!
